Cheers to Magna Carta!
June 15th 2015 is not only Magna Carta 800th’s Anniversary but also Beer Day Britain – when beer lovers will celebrate Britain’s national drink. Beer Day Britain’s connection with Magna Carta is clear: ale was mentioned in clause 35 of the great charter.
Clause 35:“Let there be throughout our kingdom a single measure for wine and a single measure for ale and a single measure for corn, namely ‘the London quarter’ “
Please join in at 12.15pm on June 15th 2015 by raising a glass of beer and giving a ‘Cheers to Magna Carta’ whether you are in a pub, at home, or at a Magna Carta celebration. We will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the most people concurrently raising a glass of beer in a national cheers so please would you ask your friends and colleagues to participate. We also aim to trend on Twitter so if you do join the national cheers please Tweet a photo and include the hashtag #CheersBDB. Follow us on Twitter at @BeerDayBritain.
